Hazrat Abu Zarr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him:
اتَّقِ اللهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ
“Be mindful of Allah wherever you may be. And follow up a bad deed with a good one—it will erase it. And deal with people with good character.”
