بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

On November 23, 2025, Vaughan Jama’at’s Springside Halqa held a unique General Body Meeting (GBM) which replaced the traditional formal speeches with innovative, small-group workshops, and interactive sessions where all attendees participated. This was led by Bilal Ahmad Mirza Sahib, serving as General Secretary for Springside Halqa, who brought the initial idea and then implemented it successfully.

After the opening Tilawat and Nazm, members were organized into groups of 8 to 10, each led by a moderator tasked with ensuring every individual—from youngest to oldest—contributed to the discussion. This inclusive format fostered deep engagement on a diverse range of current topics including fake news and its impact, challenges of social media, anti-immigrant sentiments, and connection with Khilafat.

We balanced these intellectual exercises with sprit of brotherhood, featuring congregational Namaz and a communal dinner. Before proceeding with explaining the parameters of the activity, General Secretary Sahib requested all members to stand up and stretch to break the monotony. Each group’s moderator presented their table’s collective findings, providing a comprehensive view of the Halqa’s perspectives.

In his closing remarks, Respected Mahmood Akbar Sahib, Local Amir, commended the innovative approach for its ability to stimulate grassroots participation and strengthen community bonds. The event concluded with a silent prayer, leaving members inspired by a new model of collaborative learning.
