By the grace of Allah the Almighty, the 2026 Run for Edmonton was successfully held on September 12 at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton, Alberta. The event brought together members of the wider community, dignitaries, and sponsors to promote healthy activities, community engagement, and service to humanity.
Approximately 179 participants and guests attended the event, including more than 60 participants from outside the Jama’at. The strong participation reflected the growing community support for this humanitarian initiative and provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with local residents and organizations.
The event was honoured by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Hon. Marlin Schmidt, MLA; Jo-Ann Wright, City Councillor; and representatives from the Edmonton Food Bank and the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters (ACWS). Their presence demonstrated the strong partnerships being developed between the Jama’at, local leadership, and charitable organizations.
Alhamdulillah, the event raised more than $23,000, surpassing the previous year’s fundraising achievement. Of this amount, $18,000 was donated equally to the two charitable organizations, with $9,000 presented to each. The fundraising campaign received generous support from Jama’at members, reflecting their continued commitment to helping those in need and serving the wider community.
Alhamdulillah, the 2026 Run for Edmonton was a great success in bringing together Jama’at members, community representatives, and local organizations for a common humanitarian cause. It provided a valuable platform to promote goodwill, strengthen community relations, and demonstrate the spirit of service and compassion.
May Allah Almighty also reward all volunteers, donors, sponsors, and participants, accept their sincere efforts, and enable us to continue serving humanity with dedication and compassion. Ameen.
