Five members of Majlis Ansarullah Peace Village South East spent six days in Montreal on Waqf-e-Arzi, helping to set up the Jalsa Gah and serving guests at every meal.
By the grace of Allah, five members of Majlis Ansarullah Peace Village South East (PVSE) offered Waqf-e-Arzi, dedicating their time to the service of the Jama‘at, at the Jalsa Salana Francophone du Canada, held at An-Nusrat Mosque in Montreal. From 9 to 14 September, they helped prepare the Jalsa Gah and served in the Langar Khana, the department responsible for preparing and serving the guests’ meals.
The plan was agreed at the Majlis’s monthly ‘Amila meeting on Sunday, 9 August. The members who took part were Maqsood Sajid Sahib, Fazal Ahmad Shahid Sahib, Mohammed Younas Sahib, Mubashir Chohan Sahib and Irshad Ahmad Sahib.
Setting Up for the Jalsa
On Wednesday, 9 September, the team departed for Montreal at 11 am, arriving at An-Nusrat Mosque at 6:45 pm, where members of the local Jama‘at gave them a warm welcome. That evening, they set up dining tables and chairs for 500 guests. After prayers and dinner, they were taken to a guest house for the night.
Early on Thursday, the team returned to the mosque and worked in the Jalsa Gah as directed by the Afsar Jalsa Salana until the Zuhr and ‘Asr prayers. On Friday, they put up signs and labels on all the marquees.
Serving the Guests
From Friday to Sunday, the team served three meals a day. On Friday, breakfast was served from 10 to 11 am, lunch at 2:30 pm after the Jumu‘ah prayer, and dinner at 8 pm. On Saturday, meals were served at 9:15 am, 1:15 pm and 7 pm. On Sunday, breakfast was served at 9:15 am and, after the closing session and prayers, lunch at about 2:30 pm.
Between meals, the team cleaned the dining area and set it up again for the next meal, and after dinner each evening they prepared it for the following morning’s breakfast. Alhamdulillah.
A Visit from Amir Sahib
After lunch on Sunday, the respected Amir Jama‘at Canada, Lal Khan Malik Sahib, visited each department. He came to the team, stayed with them for a while and appreciated their efforts, mentioning how pleased the Jalsa organizers were with their work. He then graciously had a group photo taken with the team and the Jalsa officials. Alhamdulillah.
The team set off for home on Monday, 14 September, at 10:30 am and reached home at 9:30 pm.
May Allah the Almighty accept these humble services and abundantly bless every member of the Waqf-e-Arzi team. Ameen.
