By the grace of Allah, a Huffaz Appreciation Dinner was held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in honour of all Huffaz residing in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Northern Ontario, who led the Tarawih prayers during Ramadan 2026. The event also recognized the significant contributions of their respected parents.
The event was presided by Respected Lal Khan Malik Sahib, National Amir Jama’at Canada.
Hafiz Wajeehullah Khan Sahib began the evening with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and its translation.
National Secretary Ta’lim-ul-Qur’an & Waqf-e-Arzi, Abdul Jabbar Zafar Sahib delivered the introductory remarks, highlighting the importance of the service rendered by the Huffaz during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Afterwards, Respected Amir Sahib distributed the Eidi gift and Certificates of Appreciation to the Huffaz, acknowledging their dedication and commitment in leading the Tarawih prayers.
The program concluded with closing remarks by Respected Amir Sahib, followed by Shawwal Iftar, the offering of Maghrib prayers, and then dinner.
Tarawih Prayers During Ramadan 2026
Planning began well before Ramadan to schedule Huffaz to lead Tarawih prayers in various mosque and prayer centres across Canada. Several meetings were held in coordination with Hifz School to make this happen.
During Ramadan 2026, by the grace of Allah, 67 Huffaz served across approximately 46 mosques and prayer centers. A backup Hafiz was arranged where possible. These arrangements ensured that members of the Community benefited from the complete recitation of the Holy Qur’an in an organized and spiritually uplifting manner.
Additionally, the department facilitated the placement of 3 Huffaz in Vancouver, along with placements in Montreal and St. Catharines, to support local Jama’ats. The overall arrangements reflected strong coordination between local Jama’ats and the National Ta’lim-ul-Qur’an & Waqf-e-Arzi Department, ensuring that qualified Huffaz were assigned according to local needs.
The participation and dedication of the Huffaz demonstrated a deep commitment to the service of the Holy Qur’an and greatly benefited the congregations throughout the blessed month.

Special appreciation is extended to those who assisted in organizing this program under the guidance of National Secretary Sahib, Ta’lim-ul-Qur’an & Waqf-e-Arzi, Respected Abdul Jabbar Zafar Sahib, including Murabbi Bilal Ahmad Bhatti, Hamid Farhan Sahib, and Amir Rana Sahib, whose efforts contributed significantly to the success of this event. A special thanks also to Respected Hafiz Rahat Cheema Sahib and his team from Hifz School for facilitating throughout the planning process.
This gathering served as a meaningful opportunity to express gratitude to the Huffaz and their families, while strengthening the bond between the Jama’at and its devoted servants of the Holy Qur’an.
A Brief Overview of Hifzul Qur’an School Canada
Hifzul Qu’ran School of Jamia Ahmadiyya was inaugurated under the guidance of Huzoor-e-Anwar (may Allah be his Helper) in September, 2011. It was initially established in Peace Village, and eventually moved to the Jamia Ahmadiyya Campus in Innisfil in 2022, where it is operating currently.

A total of 78 Huffaz have graduated from this institution, many of whom had the opportunity of leading Tarawih prayers across Canada, as stated in the report.
The school also teaches core curriculum subjects, according to the Ontario School Curriculum by qualified teachers. The students also learn translation of the Holy Qur’an, as per specific guidance of Respected Amir Sahib Canada. Also, they are affiliated with the Jama’at in various manners, by volunteering at various Jama’at programs, as well as meeting dignitaries of the Jama’at periodically. Overall, it is a blessed institution that focuses on the moral and spiritual development of young boys.
