By the grace of Allah the Almighty, the 2026 Run for Lloydminster was successfully held on Sunday, September 13, at Bud Miller Park. Organized by Majlis Ansarullah Lloydminster, the event brought together more than 100 participants, guests, volunteers, and supporters, providing an excellent opportunity to strengthen community relations and demonstrate the Jama’at’s commitment to serving humanity.
The event welcomed 55 registered race participants and several distinguished guests, including Hon. Colleen Young, MLA; Mayor Gerald Aalbers; and regional representatives. Their presence reflected the growing recognition and support for this humanitarian initiative within the local community.
The event raised approximately $9,000 before expenses, with proceeds designated to be distributed between two local organizations, Bea Fisher and Inclusion Lloydminster. The initiative received tremendous support from the wider community, with approximately 75% of the funds raised coming from individuals and businesses outside the Jama’at. In addition, two businesses joined as Community Champions, while eight businesses supported the initiative as Community Partners.
Considering Lloydminster’s population of approximately 31,000, the fundraising achievement represents nearly $0.29 per resident, highlighting the remarkable community support and impact of the initiative.
Alhamdulillah, the event was a success in promoting healthy activities, building relationships with local residents and businesses, and strengthening the Jama’at’s presence and engagement within the wider community.
Special appreciation is extended to all volunteers for their dedication, leadership, and tireless efforts in organizing the event. May Allah the Almighty reward them, along with all volunteers, donors, sponsors, participants, and organizers, accept their sincere efforts, and enable us to continue serving humanity. Ameen!
